Former Dynamo Kyiv head coach Mircea Lucescu is inclined to continue his career in his home country, Romania. This was made clear by the head coach of the Romanian national youth team (U-20) Daniel Pancu, reports as.ro.

The publication writes that one of the shareholders of Rapid Bucharest, Dan Shuku, has actually put an end to the current head coach of the team, Cristiano Bergodi, and wants Lucescu to replace him. Moreover, the functionary was ready to sack the coach last Friday, when Rapid lost 1:3 to Universitate Craiova in the next round of the Romanian championship. But his team managed to make an incredible comeback and won (4-3), and only such a turnaround saved Bergodi from resignation. Lucescu, on the other hand, was present at this match.

Nevertheless, Pancu insists that the issue of Lucescu's invitation to Rapid is a done deal for the club's management. And the 78-year-old may agree to take charge of the team next Saturday, if the team fails to beat Dinamo in the Bucharest derby.

"Lucescu will indeed continue coaching. In Romania. And here he has only two options - Rapid or Dinamo. I don't see him anywhere else," Pancu also said.
