Rapid Bucharest president Daniel Niculae said the club is keen to formalise cooperation with former Dynamo Kiev head coach Mircea Lucescu.
"We have spoken with Lucescu several times on the subject of co-operation. We started these processes about six months ago. And for him the doors at Rapid are always open. It would be really great if he agreed to come to our club and share his invaluable experience with us. We are waiting for him with open arms at any time.
One of the main goals of Rapid in 2024 was, is and will remain Mircea Lucescu. He is not only a great coach, he is above all a great footballer and his experience would be fantastic for Rapid. If you like, it's also my personal goal to try and convince Lucescu to join us. In whatever capacity his lordship wishes," Digi Sport quoted Niculae as saying.
