"Crystal Palace have decided not to sack their head coach Roy Hodgson for the time being, The Guardian reports.
According to the source, Crystal Palace president Steve Parish was seriously considering sacking Hodgson after the 0-5 defeat to Arsenal last weekend.
Some of the other Crystal Palace executives strongly recommended that Parrish immediately sack Hodgson, who had won only one of their last 12 matches. However, after a face-to-face meeting with Hodgson, Parish decided not to take the extreme measure, assuring the 76-year-old Englishman that he would stay on for the match against Sheffield United next Tuesday.
At the same time, Parish gave Hodgson "constructive criticism" and warned that a poor result against the Premier League outsider could cost Roy his job. The source adds that Crystal Palace's favourites to replace Hodgson are Julen Lopetegui and Steve Cooper.
