Slavia Prague has found a new sparring partner to replace the cancelled match with Slovan Bratislava. This was announced by the Czech club's Director of Strategic Communications Jakub Splavec.
"After discussions around the match with Slovan, we have new proposals for control matches. These are clubs from Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic. However, the offer from Vion has a much deeper dimension. The owner of the team has the same attitude towards Ukraine as we do, the general director follows us and sometimes attends our matches, and the coach is a former Slavia player, Michal Hipp. It will be a friendly match in which everything will go to a good cause," Splavec wrote on his Twitter page.
The club Vion also confirmed the friendly match: "A dream come true. Tonight the club's management agreed with Slavia on a match to be held on the first weekend of February. The proceeds from the match will be donated to support Ukraine," the Slovak club's press service said in a statement.
