Benfica goalkeeper Anatolii Trubin told us about the meeting with his fellow countrymen in Portugal that touched him the most.
- "I often meet my countrymen, I've talked to many people who have been forced to go abroad for one reason or another. To be honest, some of the stories are just terrible - how people fled from the war, how they lost all their property or, God forbid, their relatives... But I understand why they chose Portugal. It is a beautiful country with a wonderful climate and people. It immediately arouses sympathy, just like the Portuguese themselves - open, nice people.
I am very grateful to Portugal and its people for what they are doing for ordinary Ukrainians in times of war. Every such vital, human story is priceless. An important trait I see in most Ukrainians here is the desire to help the country and return to their homeland. But now about 17% of the country is occupied by terrorists from Russia, so not everyone has this opportunity," the Ukrainian said.
