Dynamo defender Oleksandr Syrota spoke about his work during the first days of the winter training camp in Turkey and shared his expectations for the first friendly:
- Of course, training camps are always difficult, but you have to be patient. Now we have two training sessions a day and I think it will be the same in the coming days. It's always hard, but that's what training camps are for.
- How can you assess the conditions - the pitches and infrastructure?
- It's a sin to complain about the conditions. Both the pitch and the food are top-notch. In Kyiv, it's frosty, the weather is cold, the lawn is hard, and here it's in very good condition.
- During training, you have a lot of game exercises, do the players especially like mini-tournaments?
- Yes, it's great to play such tournaments during training. When three teams play in a knockout game, it's always excitement and good emotions at the end of the training session.
- What fun moments during training do you remember the most?
- To be honest, I don't remember anything anymore, because I'm so stressed that I don't remember fun moments (smiles).
- You often stay after training to practice your shots, is it important for you?
- Yes, it's important for a defender too. When we play and the whole team is on the defensive, centre-backs play a very important role. They need to join the attacks and, if possible, shoot on goal.
- Serhii Fedorov has joined the coaching staff, does he work with defenders?
- Yes, he pays a lot of attention to defence because he was a defender himself. I'm sure we can learn a lot from him.
- Have you already worked with him in the youth team?
- Yes, we worked together at Dynamo U-19 and in the youth team, and when I joined the first team, he was an assistant head coach.
- Tomorrow, Dynamo will play the first control match at the training camp, what do you expect from it?
- The first matches are important to feel the game tone. I think everyone will play in halves.
