Vyacheslav Zakhovailo, a well-known manager and expert, commented on Shakhtar's winter transfers, in particular the transfer of Brazilian Kevin.
- "It's no secret that foreign players only come to Ukraine to make money. And in times of war, these amounts should be multiplied by two or three. As for me, the huge amount of money for Kevin is overstated. This player has both good and bad sides. But if it wasn't for the war, he would either be three times cheaper or he wouldn't be here at all.
Nowadays, it is very difficult to attract a foreign player to Ukraine. He either has to have nerves of steel, or you have to buy him with a lot of money. The situation in Ukrainian football today is such that every club, from the leader to the outsider, has a single task - to survive. But, in my opinion, now is not the time for such expensive purchases.
Does Shakhtar need this player? Perhaps, given the fact that the Shakhtar are playing in the Champions League and Europa League. They need to maintain their brand and be active in the transfer market. After all, the club's selectors know what they are doing. But it seems to me that Kevin was just the only one who agreed to move to Ukraine during the war. I hope he succeeds," the expert said.
