David in place of J. Yazici. Montpellier responded with the last substitution in the 84th minute, bringing on J. Ferry instead of C. Julien. Lille also made a late substitution: in the same minute A. Gomes replaced N. Bentaleb. Despite the equal score, the match was far from uninteresting. Both teams showed their skill and determination throughout the game, but the defence was too solid to be breached. The final whistle blew and the score remained 0-0, leaving both Montpellier and Lille with one point in a fiercely fought contest. The match was a reminder of the intensity and excitement that Ligue 1 has to offer. It also emphasised the importance of discipline and strategy in a game where every decision counts.
