Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret spoke about the next training day at the training camp in Turkey and shared his expectations for the upcoming sparring match with Legia Poland.
- Today was a big day, so I had to work with the guys a bit.
- Do you, the goalkeepers, share the results amongst yourselves, who missed how many?
- We have games for wishes - whether it's for sweet water or tea in a restaurant. So sometimes there is a healthy excitement.
- How did the first days of the training camp go in general, how do you feel? The workload was good, two training sessions a day...
- I'm a little tired, it's the training camp. A week of good work is behind us. After such training sessions, you need to recover well and prepare for the control games.
- Goalkeepers do not do the same amount of running work as field players - for example, you did not run the same Yo-Yo test. Do you have a more specific job together with Mikhail Mikhailov?
- Goalkeepers and field players should have different jobs. Sometimes they tell us that we don't run, we don't do anything, we just jump, but we have a very specific job, and it's very hard, although it may seem quite easy from the outside.
- What did you focus on in the early days?
- We were getting into the working mode together with the field players in Kyiv. Now there are also loads, but they are a little less - and they are decreasing.
- The first match is over. What emotions did it leave you with?
- According to the result, of course, negative. But today we analysed it, Oleksandr Volodymyrovych pointed out what mistakes we made, and also focused on the good points. In general, we shouldn't look at the results at the training camp, as they are held under pressure, so we will draw conclusions and continue to prepare for the season.
- Tomorrow is a very interesting opponent - Legia. What are your expectations for this match?
- We prepare for each match at the training camp in the same way, we have to fulfil all the tasks set by the coaching staff. Our future opponent is quite strong, so we have to play at a high level.
- Oleksandr Shovkovskyi is a legend of Dynamo and all Ukrainian football. Since he was a goalkeeper himself, does he give you any tips or advice?
- Sometimes, but it happens sporadically - not so much that he tells us how to play every day. We have a goalkeeping coach, Mikhail Mikhailov, and he knows what to do.
