Former Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Denys Harmash commented on his move to Metalist 1925 Kharkiv.
- Denys, welcome to Metalist 1925! What are your first impressions of your stay at the club, how did the team receive you?
- Thank you very much for the congratulations. The team accepted me perfectly. The team is very good, I like everything here.
- How long ago did you decide on Metalist 1925? Did you consider many other options?
- I didn't have many options. The option with Metalist 1925 arose when I found out that Viktor Skrypnyk could lead this team. I called him and we talked. It would be interesting for me to work with this coach, so I decided to join this team.
- You have been competing for the championship in the Ukrainian league throughout your career. This season, Metalist 1925 will have to solve more mundane tasks. Do you have the motivation to do so?
- Yes, I used to fight for the top places. "Now Metalist 1925 will be solving other tasks. But I am ready to go out on the pitch and give my all from the first to the last minute so that the team achieves the required result. We will all work together to get Metalist 1925 as high as possible in the standings.
- In Ukraine, you played exclusively with one club. And it coincided that Metalist 1925 will play its first game after the season resumes against Dynamo Kyiv. Have you thought about what you will feel when you go out to play against your home team? What will you do if you score a goal?
- Yes, I have played for only one team in Ukraine. But now we have to play against it. As they say, there are no friends on the field. I will do everything to ensure that the result of the match is in favour of Metalist 1925. If I score a goal, I probably won't celebrate.
- The fans saw you on the pitch from the support area to the attacking edge. Where is it more comfortable for you to play as a full-back, box-to-box, under the striker or in attack? Perhaps you have already had a conversation with Viktor Skrypnyk about where he would like to use you on the pitch?
- Most of all, I like to play in the centre of the pitch. It's probably no secret what tactical scheme Viktor Skrypnyk uses. We will work on it in training. Wherever he says, I will play.
- A wide range of Ukrainian football fans know Denys Harmash as a bright, emotional footballer. What are you like off the pitch? Can you, for example, scold people who are trying to get through the queue in a shop?
- Yes, of course, I am very emotional on the pitch. However, I think that every player who plays on the pitch, whether it's for the result or for the team, plays on emotions. In everyday life, of course, I can scold. I am the kind of person who loves justice. If it is not fair, I can scold.
