Valeriy Lobanovskiy is on the 11th place in the rating of coaches of the 80s by FourFourTwo

Journalists from FourFourTwo have published their version of the ranking of the best football coaches of the 1980s. According to our colleagues from the UK, the best coach at that time was the Italian Giovanni Trapattoni.

Mr Trapattoni was really "on fire" in the 1980s, as they say nowadays, and from 1980 to 1989 he won five Italian championships at the helm of Juventus and Inter Milan:

  • five Italian championships,
  • the Italian Cup,
  • Cup Winners' Cup,
  • European Champions Cup
  • Intercontinental Cup.

The British ranked Valeriy Lobanovsky, the legendary coach of Dynamo Kyiv, 11th in their ranking.
