The last participant of the 1958 World Cup final dies

On 4 February, the legendary Swedish striker Kurt Hamrin died at the age of 89. The cause of his death has not been announced.

The news of the forward's death was published by Italian side Fiorentina, for whom he played for almost 10 years. He also played for Juventus and AC Milan. In total, he played about 400 matches in the Italian championship and scored 191 goals. The Swede is ranked sixth in the list of all-time Serie A top scorers.

Hamrin was the vice-champion of the 1958 FIFA World Cup with Sweden. He was the last living participant in this final. He played 32 matches and scored 17 goals for the national team.
