AS Roma dominate Cagliari in 4-0 win at Stadio Olimpico AS Roma put in a superb performance in a resounding 4-0 victory over Cagliari in a Serie A match played at the legendary Stadio Olimpico. The home side dominated from start to finish, leaving their opponents helpless and unable to get back on track. The first half witnessed a rousing Roma attack, with midfield maestro Lorenzo Pellegrini opening the scoring in the 2nd minute. Pellegrini showed his skill and accuracy by hitting a shot on goal and set the tone for Roma's dominance in the match. Cagliari's defence struggled to contain the home side's onslaught and in the 23rd minute Paulo Dybala increased Roma's lead with an exceptional goal. It was obvious that Cagliari needed to regroup at half-time, but their struggles continued into the second half. Just six minutes after the break, Roma were awarded a penalty, which was masterfully converted by Dybala. This further aggravated Cagliari's situation and the team started to fall behind by four goals. In the 55th minute, Roma manager Paulo Fonseca decided to make some strategic substitutions. Steven El Shaarawy was replaced by Nikolo Zalewski, and Diego Llorente gave way to Daniel Huysen. In addition, Pellegrini left the pitch and was replaced by Edoardo Bove. Subsequent substitutions further strengthened Roma's game.
In the 58th minute, Angelinho replaced Rasmus Christensen, energising the team. Soon after, in the 59th minute, Huysen scored his second goal of the match, further strengthening Roma's lead. Cagliari struggled to find momentum and their manager, Leonardo Semplici, tried to change the course of the match with his substitutions. Philippe Azzi and Marcello Prati were replaced by Zito Luvumbo and Giacomo Gaetano respectively in the 62nd minute. Alessandro Dossena came on in place of Niccolo Viola to breathe new life into the Cagliari attack. Both teams received a yellow card each as the match progressed. Roma's Leandro Paredes received a caution in the 66th minute, while Cagliari's Naitan Nandes was also suspended. In an attempt to change the situation, Yannick Mina replaced Michal Vetesca in the 67th minute. In the closing stages, both teams made further substitutions. Dybala, who had already proved to be a force on the pitch, was replaced by Tommaso Baldanzi in the 74th minute. In the end, Roma's dominance was impossible to deny and they secured a deserved 4-0 victory over Cagliari. Clinical play and relentless attacks left Cagliari defenceless throughout the match. This win will surely give confidence to Roma as they continue their Serie A campaign. Overall, it was an outstanding performance by Roma, emphasising their ability to control the game and showcase their talent. Cagliari, on the other hand, need to regroup and address the gaps in defence that have been exposed by their opponents.
