The Ukrainian Premier League is launching a new sports channel, UPL TV, which will be distributed by 1+1 media distribution. This was announced by 1+1 media in a press release.
The official broadcast of the first match will take place on 23 February. The channel will be available as part of basic subscriptions on OTT platforms, cable TV and the Viasat DTH platform.
As part of the cooperation, the UPL will be responsible for content creation, and 1+1 media will be responsible for the channel's distribution. The plans are to launch the channel in full from the start of the 2024/25 season in July with additional analytical programmes, pre- and post-match studios, reviews, interviews with players, coaches and Ukrainian football leaders.
"Ukrainian football is going through a difficult time during a full-scale war, but at the same time it is undergoing a complete transformation and responding to the challenges of the circumstances. Despite the difficult conditions, the sport continues to occupy an important place in the hearts of Ukrainian fans, so we will make every effort to restore football broadcasting. The goal of our cooperation with the UPL is to distribute the channel and its content, so our distribution will cover various broadcast channels:OTTplatforms, cable TV and paid satellite broadcasting," commented Andriy Malchevskyi, Director of Distribution and Network Development at 1+1 media.
The content of UPL TV includes live broadcasts of Ukrainian Premier League matches, unique programmes and archive games of the Ukrainian football championships of previous years. The library will be gradually expanded and filled with new products and live broadcasts.
