Myron Markevych, the head coach of Lviv's Karpaty, shared his impressions of the Nations League draw, where we were drawn with the Czech Republic, Albania and Georgia.
- How do you like the draw?
- It's a normal draw, we have to not only play with all the teams, but also win. The draw is good, it could have been worse.
- What should we expect from this tournament?
- The Nations League is an interesting tournament. We need to win our division and move up.
- Should we give our best here to make sure we qualify for Division A?
- Well, why not? We have a good team, young and promising. We have a large number of the right players. So, I think we need to fight for first place and that's it.
- Is the Nations League a chance to see new faces in the team?
- Yes, for sure. This is more a question for the national team coaches. But we have a very good adult and youth team. We are going to the Olympics, the U-21s are in first place in their group. We have a lot of positive things now. We just need to use it.
- Which of the rivals will be the hardest: Czech Republic, Albania or Georgia?
- All teams have been making progress recently. Albania and Georgia are completely different teams now. And the Czechs are one of the favourites in the group. But I say again that the Ukrainian team is on the move, so they need to fight for first place in the group.
- Is the Czech national team a direct competitor ?
- Yes, and the Albanians are not an easy opponent now, and the Georgians can also prove themselves. But I believe that the Ukrainian national team should eventually take first place.
