Shakhtar's Maxim Derkach will have to look for a new team.
As Sport24.ua has learned, 18-year-old winger Maksym Derkach has been left without a club, having ended his cooperation with Portuguese side Estoril, although the contract was designed to last until the end of the season.
Derkach has been playing for the U-23 team since the summer of 2023, but had very little playing practice. In Ukraine, before the full-scale invasion, the boy was in the Shakhtar system.
By the way, Derkach was called up to the youth national teams of Ukraine. In particular, the attacking midfielder played two matches for the U-19 team and scored a goal. Last year, he scored a goal against Slovakia in the UEFA Youth Euro qualifying match.
It should be added that Estoril's adult team is currently ranked 13th in the Portuguese league. That is, two steps away from the relegation zone. The team finished the last campaign in 14th position in the elite division.
