Maksym Dyachuk: "It's unusual to play on the right wing, but I'm trying"

Dynamo Kyiv defender Maksym Dyachuk spoke about preparing for the second half of the season and playing in a new position on the right side of the defence.

- Our second training camp is of a game nature. In the near future, we will gain game tone and enter the second part of the season. I feel good, I think a little more and I will get in good shape.

- The team has already played a lot of sparring matches, which one did you enjoy the most?

- Each sparring session is difficult in its own way. I can't single out any one, they were all good.

- Dynamo confidently defeated Liepaja, but then drew with Škendija, what went wrong in that match?

- I don't know, there will be a theory, and the coaches will point out the mistakes we made in that match, emphasise that they should not be repeated in the future.

- There are also a lot of theoretical sessions at the second training camp, what do you pay attention to?

- Work on mistakes. The coaches show us what we do well and what we don't do well, and make certain adjustments.

- At the training camps, you often play as a right-back, is it something new for you?

- Of course, it's a new position, but the coaches have their own opinion, they see my place there, and I'm just glad that I'm getting game practice.

- How does playing on the wing differ from the centre of defence? Do you like your new role and frequent involvement in attacks?

- Of course, it's hard, because I'm not used to this kind of work, I will gradually get involved and try to do these actions correctly, because sometimes I can't keep up with the rhythm and feel short of breath.

- Serhii Fedorov has joined the coaching staff, does he work with the defenders? What advice does he give you?

- He just gives instructions on where to pass the ball more clearly, how to move correctly and at maximum speed. These are basic tips from the coach for defenders.

- Recovery is very important for footballers. How does the team and you personally recover, what do you do in your free time?

- Every day after training I have a nap, and after the second training session or game I go to the spa. In addition, we have a barrel of ice, and we stand there or do the "game ready" procedure, which is applying ice to our feet. We also use lymphatic drainage pants - all these procedures are available, and we do them to recover better.

- How did the team support Kristian Bilovar after his injury?

- To be honest, everyone was very scared, it was probably the first time we had ever experienced something like this. Of course, everyone supported him and worried about him. I wish him a speedy recovery and return to the pitch.
