Uli Hoeness: "Xabi Alonso has players who suit him. "Bayer were lucky with their transfers"

Uli Hoeness, a member of Bayern Munich's board of directors, has spoken about the selection of Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso's players.

"This season, Xabi Alonso has players who suit him. They were lucky with transfers. No one was interested in Victor Bonifacio, and no one knew about Alex Grimaldo before. You have to be lucky when a player comes to a new country and a new club to have such an impact right away," Heness said in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
