Journalists of Italian sports publications have assessed the actions of Ukrainian midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi of Genoa in the home match of the 24th round of the Italian championship against Atalanta (1:4).
The Italian sports press evaluated the game of the Ukrainian, who played a full match in the position of central midfielder and scored a goal, on a ten-point scale.
"Malinovskiy's magic. Gilardino released him in the centre of the pitch. Against his former team, the Ukrainian dreamer started a bit stiff but then tried to shoot from distance, not always being accurate."
"In the first half there were a lot of fouls and little else. Then he scored a classic goal with his trademark left-footed shot from outside the box."
"Perhaps the most anticipated of many former players on the pitch, he showed that he doesn't suffer from sentimentality by playing a very tense match that wasn't devoid of sharp moments. He took shots from outside the box and then scored an excellent goal early in the second half."
"Third goal in the league and, as usual, his goals are never trivial."
"He kept his team on their toes with a great goal, but unfortunately lost the ball in the moment after which Atalanta made the score 1:4."
"After a difficult first half, he equalised early in the second with a left-footed strike, leaving Carnesecchi no chance. But it wasn't enough to secure the points."
