Rafal Collins, one of the owners of Polish Zaglembe from Sosnowiec, commented extensively on the club's signing of two experienced Ukrainian players - midfielder Oleksiy Dovgogo and defender Artem Sukhotskyi.

"On Thursday we announced two transfers that attracted widespread attention, including comments that they were strange moves.

Sukhotsky had not played football for two years but only because of the war, which meant he had contract cancellation issues. He was constantly doing individual training.

Our second new player is Oleksiy Dovgiy, who played 160 matches in the elite division of Ukraine. These are really experienced players.

The club president and I had doubts about several candidates, but our head coach (Oleksandr Khatskevich - ed.) said: look, I know what I am doing. And when you have such a coach, I, a person who came from a completely non-sports background, have to trust him. And I have to do everything in my power to help him realise his vision. So the only thing we could do was to fine-tune these contracts so that they become favourable to the club. And I think we did a good job in terms of providing the club with the players that the coach wanted.

Dovgiy, for example, got an amateur contract. We know what health problems he had in the past. So his remuneration will only be paid after a month's work and we won't guarantee it in advance because that would be a risk for the club. So if he gets injured, he won't be paid any money.

As for Sukhotsky, he got one of the lowest contracts in the team. Within the terms that guys who are just coming out of our academy have. I understand that he hasn't played football in two years. That doesn't mean the agency, myself or anyone else got a commission from it. It's impossible to make money at Zaglemba today. Some people think it is possible, and Vadim Szablij, my friend and partner, who has an agency with a turnover of 300 million zlotys (69 million euros - ed.) per year on contracts, wants to make money on players like Dovgii or Sukhotskyi," Meczyki quotes Collins as saying.
