Polish media reacted with categorical condemnation to the bastardisation of Widzew's fans from Lodz, who hung a rag called "CSKA Moscow flag" during yesterday's Polish league match against LKS.
Here is what, for example, the LodzkiSport edition writes about it in its article with the title "We don't want to see such things in Polish stadiums. Especially in Lodz."
"The Lodz derby and the march of the Widzew fans went really peacefully. The most shocking thing happened in the away sector.
During the match, people in the stand meant for Widzew fans raised the CSKA flag. This is a military club from the capital of the country that committed aggression against Ukraine. CSKA's management includes generals responsible for preparing an attack on our neighbours.
This is especially depressing in view of the fact that in 2022 Ukrainian fans sat in the same seats in this stadium to support their national team in Nations League matches. In addition, Dynamo Kyiv also played charity matches here. And when the invasion started, Vidzev fans organised collections for Ukrainians. And we are convinced that most of them will not accept unhealthy arrangements with Russian citizens.
I wonder if the people who raised the CSKA flag will be ready to support a club from an authoritarian state again when its president decides that after Ukraine he wants to attack Poland?
Otherwise, the fans of Widzew and LCS behaved very honourably during the derby. This only adds to the regret of having to write about such a disgusting incident," the publication wrote.
