According to the club's press service, until the end of the current season the acting head coach will be now ex-assistant Beal Mike Dodds.

At the same time, TEAMtalk has already named a list of candidates for the position of Sunderland coach - they are Polish specialist Marek Papshun, who at the end of the season-2022/23 led "Raków" to the title of champion of Poland for the first time in the history of this club, as well as the British Paul Heckingbottom (until recently coached Sheffield United) and Steve Cooper (ex-head coach of Nottingham Forest).

Recall, Papshun since last summer, when he left "Rakuv", remains unemployed. In autumn, the media reported that Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk were interested in the coach.
