Former Lviv coach Anatoliy Bessmertny spoke about one of his former charges, 18-year-old defender Taras Mikhavko, who now plays for Dynamo Kyiv and claims to become a player of the Bilo-Syni's main squad in the second part of the current season.
"We had a situation of personnel hunger at that time. Many were injured, many were not up to the level of the top league, so we decided to look at a young group of players from U-19.
When I went to watch the U-19 match with Ruh, I realised that we can pull up 6-7 players. As for Taras, he immediately caught my eye. Firstly - character, then - thinking, speed, good first pass, reads the game well. Very modest, he is a good guy.
When we played with Chornomorets, in the 60-65th minute he was seized by cramps. Different speeds. But he does not want to change, he wants to play. These young guys have a good future.
We put him in training as a left defender, he has good speed. This position may be not alien to him. We didn`t put him as a centre-back, but he understands the game well, probably because he used to play there. It's true what they say: "Show me your midfield and I'll tell you what kind of team you have". His outlook of the game is very good.
He has all the data to play good football. Dynamo have good coaches, who will give him the right direction. And the fact that the youngster can play, it only pleases. Maybe he has really fulfilled his hopes - that's all," Tribuna quotes Bessmertniy as saying.
