In a much-anticipated Ligue 1 match at the Allianz Riviera Stadium, Nice faced Clermont Foot. Both teams were looking for a crucial win to improve their position in the standings. The first half started with both teams showing excellent defensive organisation, making it difficult for either side to break through. The first notable event in the match occurred in the 8th minute when Nice's K. Thuram received a yellow card. Clermont Foot's M. Gonalons also found himself in the referee's book in the 31st minute. As the first half drew to a close, tensions rose when Dante of Nice received a yellow card in the 45th minute. Just before the break, Clermont Foot had a great opportunity to take the lead when S. Nicholson kicked a penalty but unfortunately missed the target.
In the second half both teams made important substitutions in an attempt to find the breakthrough. In the 46th minute, Clermont Foot brought on H. Keita instead of M. Gonalons, and in the 61st minute, Nice introduced T. Moffi and P. Rosario instead of J. Boga and H. Boudaoui. Despite the substitutions, both teams failed to create any clear goal-scoring opportunities. In the 73rd minute, Clermont Foot made two more substitutions: K. Andric and J. Magnin replaced S. Nicholson and J. Gastioui. Nicholson and J. Gastien. Nice also made changes: M. Cho and G. Laborde replaced J. Lotomba and V. Gastien. Lotomba and V. Rosier in the same minute. With the score tied 0-0, both teams continued to go forward in search of a late winner. In the 82nd minute, both sides made their final substitutions, with A. Claude-Maurice replacing J. Lautomba and V. Rosier. Despite their best efforts, neither team was able to score and the match ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw. Both OGC Nice and Clermont Foot will be looking to bounce back in their next matches to climb higher in the League 1 standings.
