Dynamo Kyiv forward Vladyslav Vanat shared his impressions of the 4-2 win over Metalist 1925 Kharkiv in the 18th round of the Ukrainian championship, in which he scored a double.
- What are your emotions after the first match of the second part of the season?
- I have positive emotions because we won. But personally, I didn't like my game in the first half: there were a lot of deficiencies, an unrealised one-on-one with the goalkeeper. In the second half, I adjusted a bit and managed to score two goals.
- But it's good for a forward to have a lot of chances, isn't it?
- Yes, it's good, but it's better when you convert them.
- What was the impact of the quick conceded goal on the game? How unexpected was it for you?
- It was expected because he is a Garmash, you can expect anything from Denys. He scored a beautiful goal. Probably, only he could score such a goal.
- Did you talk to him before the game?
- Yes, we did. He said that he would "drive us around" a bit today. But we won today. And this victory is well deserved.
- Did it help you that you managed to equalise before the break?
- Yes, it's good, because going into the break with the score 0-1 or 1-1 is different. It was good that we levelled the score in the first half.
- You said that you didn't succeed in many things in the first half. Were you not upset by that?
- At the moment, it was, but I realised that the game was on and I had to switch to the next moments.
- When you took a 2-1 lead, did you realise that you would not lose the victory?
- Not at all, even when the score was already 3-1, nothing was clear. We conceded the second goal, so it wasn't clear whether we would win.
- In the second half, the game turned out to be very spectacular, what was the reason for that?
- Probably because Metalist 1925 scored a quick goal in the first half and retreated to the defence with great strength, so it was harder to open it. And after conceding in reply, the opponents started running forward, opening up areas, and we had a lot of chances.
- Dynamo made a lot of set pieces from the flanks, from corners, but failed to convert them. What was the reason?
- We are practising this component, but not always what we practise can go through. In the first half, there were a lot of set pieces, and in the second half we rebuilt ourselves, started playing a little differently, and it brought results.
- Describe how you scored your goals.
- The first goal - Shaparenko passed the ball to Voloshin, Nazar made a good shot, which I closed. During my second goal, Shaparenko made a good shot, the ball hit the post, and I put my foot in in the style of Seleznev. It was nothing complicated, I practice it every day in training.
