John O'Shea appointed head coach of the Irish national team

The Irish Football Association has announced on its official website the appointment of John O'Shea as interim head coach of the national team.

The 42-year-old specialist will prepare the team for friendly matches against Belgium and Switzerland, which are scheduled for March.

O'Shea spent most of his playing career with Manchester United from 1999 to 2011. John has experience of working as an assistant coach in the Irish youth national team.
