Left Bank defender Taras Pinchuk, who serves in the AFU, told Tribuna.com about his attitude to football during the war.
"If you put yourself in the place of footballers, of course, you have to play. It's not that it's entertainment - it's work for the guys. They have contracts - it's their livelihood. I wouldn't say that categorically you shouldn't hold a championship and play football. It's their job, they work for the economy, they pay taxes. I think it's necessary. That's my opinion.
When I have the opportunity, of course, I try to watch football, at least the results, who played how, and reviews of matches. Especially APL and Champions League. I have to switch, because the same thing is hard, it puts pressure on the psyche.
So we try to distract ourselves with football. I probably won't be able to play football anymore - I have problems with my leg. I'll probably only play on a console, but I won't be able to play that way. I had a football injury, but it has worsened here.
I don't have such dreams that I will buy a house, a car. The classic dream is to win a war and change my uniform. That's the most important thing. And return to the people who are waiting for you," - said Pinchuk.
We shall remind you that Pinchuk is a pupil of Dynamo, played for Veres, Obolon and Zirka.
