Spartak Moscow footballer sentenced to 6 years in prison for cocaine smuggling detained in UAE

Spartak Moscow footballer Quincy Promes, who was previously sentenced to 6 years in prison for cocaine smuggling, was detained at the airport in Dubai.

It is reported that Promes was unable to fly with the team from a training camp in the UAE. The Dutchman was detained by the police at the airport in Dubai while passing through border control for a flight to St Petersburg. As a result, Promes was taken to a police station.

As a reminder, the footballer was convicted in the Netherlands for participating in a deal to sell 1,350kg of cocaine in the port of Antwerp.
