Serhiy Kovalets: "Chornomorets" looked quite solid. But Dynamo's experience still had an impact. A deserved victory"

Former Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Serhiy Kovalets shared his impressions of his former team's match with Chornomorets Odessa (1-0) in the 19th round of the Ukrainian championship, which took place last Saturday in the capital.

"The Odessians looked solid enough. The "sailors" even had hope that they could equalise, as it was in the game with Obolon. I would like to mention Avagimyan, who came out in the starting line-up and dominated in the midfield. Bragaru and Shtogrin also tried their best.

However, Dinamo's experience still had an impact. Already in the opening of the match there was a moment for Dynamo's Vanat when he found himself in front of the goal and played on the rebound after Shepelev's shot was parried by Varakuta.

Unfortunately, in one of the episodes, the Chernomorets goalkeeper, who had a stable autumn part of the championship and was the most prominent figure in the recent game with Obolon, made a mistake. He did not fix the ball, which after a ricochet from the bar got to Shepelev and he was the author of the only goal in the match.

When the score became 1:0, Kyiv team showed a good game. There were a lot of reverse attacks, interceptions, there was a struggle and emotions were boiling. It seems to me that the sixth consecutive victory of Dynamo led by Oleksandr Shovkovskiy was well deserved," UA-Football quoted Kovalets as saying.
