Slovakia U-17 - Switzerland U-17 - 2: 1
As a result of the elite round draw, the Blue and Yellows are in Group 4 along with the national teams of Greece, Switzerland and Slovakia. Yuriy Moroz's wards played their first match against the hosts of the mini-tournament in the Greek city of Patras at the Kostas Davourlis Stadium.
The first half was dominated by the Hellenes, who struck several shots at Makarenko's goal, although their goalkeeper also had to come into the game.
In the 51st minute, the Greeks were left in the minority - Mokris received a second warning. The initiative went to our team, the hosts held on for some time, but still the "blue and yellows" pressed the opponent. In the 75th minute, Redushko opened the scoring from Dragan's pass, and later Bogdanov converted a penalty.
Thus, Yuriy Moroz's team started with a 2-0 victory. Our boys will play their next match against Switzerland on 9 March.
