A scandalous episode occurred in the return leg of the Champions League 1/8 final between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig.
On 54 minutes of the match, Real Madrid midfielder Vinicius Junior again showed his disrespect for the opponents. The Brazilian first fouled Willy Orban and then grabbed his opponent by the throat. For his despicable actions, the Madrid midfielder received only a yellow card from Italian Davide Massa, the head referee, although he deserved to be sent off.
It is noteworthy that it was Vinicius Junior who scored Real Madrid's only goal of the match in the 65th minute of the game. The match ended in a 1-1 draw and Ancelotti's team advanced to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
"If one of our players had grabbed a Real Madrid player by the throat like that, he would have been suspended. That's 100 per cent," RB Leipzig defender Benjamin Henriks said after the game.
"The referee doesn't have the courage to remove players like that. Vinicius grabbed my throat with both hands. It's disrespectful," RB Leipzig defender Willy Orban said.
