The start of the match was postponed due to an air alert across Ukraine. After the threat passed, both teams started the match very cheerfully, literally answering each other with attack on attack. And already in the 5th minute of the match the spectators saw the first goal scored.
It seemed that it was Veres that would manage to take the lead, but Buschan managed to parry the shot of Mrvaljevic, who went one-on-one with the Dynamo goalkeeper. And immediately Kyivians started their counterattack, which ended with the capture of the opponent's goal. Kabaev passed from the right flank to the left edge of the hosts' penalty area - to free Voloshin. The Bilo-Syni midfielder received the ball and accurately shot low into the far corner of the goal - 0:1!
Literally in the next attack Shovkovskiy's charges could double their advantage. Andriyevskyi dared to shoot from twenty metres after a shot from the left flank - the ball hit the crossbar of Kogut's goal! Shandruk's team, in its turn, tried to slow down the pace of Dynamo's attacks by means of high pressing, and closer to the middle of the first half it succeeded.
Nevertheless, the game was still under the control of the capital's grandee, who managed to create several more good chances at Veres' goal. Popov and Shaparenko's shots were memorable, but both lacked accuracy. That was the end of all interesting events in the first half.
After the break, the Reds continued to intensively press the Dynamo players, sometimes forcing them to simply kick the ball forward. Such actions of the players of his team did not suit Oleksandr Shovkovskiy at all: the coach of the Kyiv team was constantly telling something to the players at the side edge of the pitch. In the 58th minute Voloshin could remove all questions about the winner of the game, but after a beautiful solo pass, his shot from close range was blocked by Cesar.
Realising that with such a game it was possible to hang on for a draw, Veres players worked more and more actively on the attack, also betting on standard positions. And, admittedly, the final minutes of the game were very difficult for the Bilo-Syni. The players of the Rovno club were forcing forward, constantly "loading" the ball into the Dynamo penalty area. The coaching staff of the guests even decided to release two central defenders - Maksym Dyachuk and Oleksandr Sirota - for the final minutes of the confrontation.
However, in the last minutes of the match there was a real drama. Already in the compensated time Benito hit his opponent in the leg in a fight with his opponent. After a protest from Veres players and VAR review, the head referee Panchyshyn pointed to the spot. Mrvaljevic converted the penalty on 90+9 minutes - 1:1. Kyiv lose the victory...
We shall remind you that Dynamo will play their next match in the Ukrainian Championship on Tuesday, 12th March. The opponent of Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team will be Luhansk Zorya. The match will be held in Kyiv, kick-off - at 15:30.
