Shakhtar Donetsk announced on its official website that it is filing a lawsuit against midfielder Bohdan Viunnyk, who has joined Polish side Lechia.
"The footballer Bohdan Viunnyk did not return to FC Shakhtar after the winter break, despite having a valid contract with the club until 30 June 2025.
The club repeatedly offered the player the opportunity to return to the club's premises, but the player rejected these offers. Subsequently, the player announced the unilateral termination of his contract with FC Shakhtar dated 22 February 2024.
FC Shakhtar does not agree with the termination of the contract and will file a lawsuit against the player and his new club FC Lechia with the relevant competent authorities," the statement reads.
