Oleh Dulub, head coach of Cherkasy LNZ, spoke about his club's transfer policy.
- The process of selecting players is ongoing. Our selection department, I would say, works 25 hours a day - they wake up an hour earlier and analyse and watch all the time. Usually they say that you should have a plan A, B, C, but in our case it went down to the last letter of the alphabet. A large number of agreed transfers fell through after the missile attacks at the end of last year. We adjusted our transfer policy, inviting players who should be stronger than those who left the team. We parted ways with players not because of their performance, but because of the impact they had on the dressing room.
The domestic market? Inviting Ukrainian players is a more complicated process than signing a legionnaire. 90% of players have existing contracts and need to be compensated for them. You need to take into account the local mentality of the players. When we invited the players now, we assessed how much they would be able to progress in the next 2-3 years. It takes 4 transfer windows to build a team, but you need to invite 3-4 newcomers to gradually integrate them. We chose the path of shock therapy," Dulub was quoted as saying by UV.
