At the start of the mini-tournament in Group 4, the Blue and Yellows defeated the hosts from Greece 2-0. Now Yuriy Moroz's wards faced their peers from Switzerland. The game took place in the city of Patras at the Pampeloponnisiako Stadium.
The Ukrainians quickly secured a comfortable lead. First, Bogdanov opened the scoring with a pass from Bondar, and then Stepanov converted a penalty.
The Swiss failed to reduce the deficit, and in the 63rd minute Bondar scored the third goal of our national team after a pass from Rybak. As a result, the Blue and Yellows retained their advantage - 3-0, thus making a strong bid to reach the final tournament.
Our boys will play their final match in the group on 12 March against Slovakia.
