Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Heorhii Bushchan, who kept his goal intact in a 2-0 win over Zorya Luhansk in the 21st round of the Ukrainian championship, shared his impressions of the match.
- I congratulate the team and the fans on their victory. Given the weather conditions, today was not football, but a bit of anti-football. We were preparing for a tough game and did everything to win.
- Did the snowfall affect the attitude the coaches gave us for the game?
- In the pre-match warm-up, the pitch was in a slightly better condition. During the game, we adjusted to the pitch a little bit and played our football.
- Such a pitch is quite traumatic, and you have important matches for the national team ahead. Did the guys have any thoughts that they should play more cautiously today?
- No, today we are in the location of Dynamo Kyiv, so we only thought about winning, and we will think about the national team's affairs tomorrow.
- This is the third match in a row that you've taken to the pitch with the captain's armband, how do you feel about this role? Does it add to your responsibility?
- Yes, the fact that there is more responsibility is 100%. But I would like to note that the captain's armband "found" me because the guys were injured. I wish them a speedy recovery and health, so that after the pause associated with the national team matches, they could return to the team and help us on the field. Do you have any additional responsibilities? No, everything is the same as before.
- How important was it to score the second goal so that things didn't turn out like in the last match against Veres, when the opponent equalised in the last compensated minute?
- If you think about bad things, they will happen. That's why we were determined only to win, trying to play from behind. And we were 100% sure that we would score.
- Is the team waiting for Andriy Yarmolenko to return? What does his presence on the pitch bring?
- In fact, he adds a lot to the team, including strength and confidence. When he comes on, we know that there is a person who can make a difference on the pitch.
- How do you feel playing in front of the fans? Is the atmosphere more pleasant?
- Yes, it is. I would like to thank our Armed Forces for giving the fans the opportunity to come to the matches. We need their support and it's a pleasure to play for them.
- Many of them said that they come to the stadium as if it were a holiday. Is it the same for you?
- Of course, every game is a holiday for us, and even more so with the fans.
- Did the victory over Zorya improve your mood before you left for the Ukrainian national team?
- Yes, of course. Every victory gives you strength and motivation to work hard every day and improve your skills.
- Are you charged for the national team's decisive matches?
- Of course, yes.
- Do you expect our fans to support you in Bosnia and Herzegovina?
- Of course, we are counting on it. There are many Ukrainians in Europe, and they support us passionately. I will be glad to see them.
