There is now complete clarity on the injury to Ukrainian midfielder Viktor Tsygankov of Spanish side Girona, which he sustained in Saturday's match against Osasuna (2-0) in the Spanish league.
Initially, doctors feared that the 26-year-old footballer damaged a knee ligament, which could send him to the infirmary for a long time. However, according to the latest information from the Spanish media, Tsygankov's medical examinations revealed that he only suffered a bruised knee.
At the moment there is no exact date of his return to the field. So far he is not training (in particular, as we have already reported, the midfielder missed yesterday's training session of "Girona") and probably will not play in the next match of his team - this Saturday, against "Getafe" in the Spanish championship.
Then Tsygankov will go to the location of the Ukraine national team to prepare for the semi-final play-off match of the Euro 2024 qualifying round against Bosnia and Herzegovina (21 March). According to the coach of the Ukrainian national team Serhiy Rebrov, the midfielder has a very good chance to fully recover from his injury in time for this match and be ready to help the "blue and yellow" team.
