Former journalist Ihor Burbas said that Luhansk-based Zorya is preparing to impose financial penalties on the club's players who refused to take part in the recent 0-2 loss to Dynamo Kyiv in the 21st round of the Ukrainian championship.
- Zorya is preparing to fine its rebels. According to my information, the club can use the contract article that states that a player's refusal (https://t. me/burbuzz/428) to participate in an official match is punishable by a sanction of 50% of his monthly salary. Repeated failure to attend a game means minus 90%.
And that's not all, they say. The head coach has the authority to impose additional penalties. At his own discretion, he can deprive his players of up to 50% of their wages. In particular, for unprofessional behaviour, causing image damage to the club. In short, there are plenty of grounds for action.
However, these are extreme measures that Zorya would not like to resort to yet. Yesterday, today and tomorrow the team is off, the situation is on hold, and everyone is weighing up further actions. The next round of negotiations between the parties will take place on Saturday. The club is interested in reaching an understanding and giving the rebels a chance to rewind the situation. But only on their own terms, i.e. to pay the promised prize money between 10 and 19 May. As far as I understand it, this is due to some tax issues due to the end of one financial year and the beginning of a new one.
The players are assessing the risks that this is also the end of the football season, after which, in simple terms, they may be "thrown". Now they have enlisted the support of the professional footballers' union, ready to stand their ground and demand their earned bonus," Burbas wrote on his Telegram channel.
