Oleksandr Karavaev: "We have long been used to such a long road"

Oleksandr Karavaev, the midfielder of Kyiv Dynamo and the Ukraine national football team, in his interview to the UAF press service told about the first day of the national team at the training camp in Spain, where the Blue-Yellows arrived yesterday early evening.

Alexander Karavaev

- The journey was long, 22 hours on the road....

- That's the minimum! We always travel like that now and we got used to it a long time ago.

- How does that journey time go?

- It's always about the same. You get on the train, socialise for the first 3-4 hours, then have something to eat and go to bed. At four in the morning you get up, check passports at the border. Then you lie down again for an hour, after which you take the bus, the plane and the bus again. It's the same as always.

- How was the first training session at the training camp?

- After such a journey it is not recommended to just lie down and rest. You must jog, play "squares", do certain physical exercises. So, we have worked for an hour, and now we can recover.

Well, tomorrow we will have two training sessions, we start preparing for the upcoming match.

- How is the atmosphere in the team?

- For eight years in the national team of Ukraine, as long as I have been here, there is always a very good, positive, cheerful atmosphere. We are one family. We are always waiting for the next training camp of the national team not only in terms of sport, to achieve some successes, but also to communicate with the guys. Especially, we haven`t seen each other for a long time. Our foreigners will arrive, and there will be even more emotions.

- You can see that Georgi Buschan is charging everyone with optimism now.

- So he is our "number one" in all aspects - in life, on the field, in the locker room, in the room. (Smiling).

- But he is very ambitious, he wants to compete for a place in the national team goal.

- Of course! Who doesn`t want to?! Everyone wants to play. The best players gather here and everyone competes with each other.
