AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli commented on the performances of Italian clubs in this year's European competitions.
"I think that the gap in level has narrowed, even if clubs from other leagues have different financial capabilities, the gap has narrowed.
Inter's relegation was a bit of a surprise, but they remain among the best teams in Europe. I think Italian clubs are not that far behind other European clubs, but of course, if clubs from other leagues continue to spend that kind of money, it will not be easy for anyone," Pioli was quoted as saying by Football Italia.
