The participation of Ukrainian midfielder of Girona Viktor Tsygankov in the semi-final play-off match of the Euro 2024 qualifying round Bosnia and Herzegovina - Ukraine, according to the Spanish media, is excluded.
Recall, yesterday Girona officially announced that the 26-year-old footballer was diagnosed with a sprain of the medial collateral ligament of the knee of the 1st degree. The recovery period after such an injury is at least three weeks, and this, taking into account when Tsygankov was injured (10 March), virtually rules out that he will be able to return to full training before the match with the Bosnian national team (21 March).
The Spanish press does not even consider the option that the midfielder will play for the Ukraine national team in the March matches and calls the current international break an opportunity for Tsygankov to recover qualitatively and return to Girona ready to play or at least to train again.
As previously reported, today Tsygankov will arrive at the camp of the Ukraine national team at the training camp in Marbella, where the doctors of the national team and its coaching staff will assess the situation with the injury of the midfielder and his prospects of playing in the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
