Ukrainian mentor of Polish "Zaglembe" from Sosnowiec Alexander Khatskevich commented on the defeat of his team from "Lechia"(0:4) in the next round of the first league of Poland.
"Some of our players were affected by this beautiful stadium. And for the first 12-15 minutes the guys did not understand what to do on the football field. Many of our players played in such a stadium for the first time.
Then we levelled the game somewhere, moved the ball to the opponent's half of the field. Then there was this episode with a penalty, and we take the VAR decision, but it is not the first time when we start playing more aggressive football only after we concede first.
"Lechia had a great start to the second half, increased the pace, which we couldn't cope with. Especially in the first minutes after the break. First of all, this is my mistake: we need to trust more to young players, faster players. Only in such matches they can grow. We should not look back, we should only look forward. Yes, young players will make mistakes more often, but they will play with more desire and in this way they will improve their skills faster.
It is clear that I can not immediately release 7-8 young players, but today at the end of the match we had five or six players aged 19-20. Their level will grow when they play together with such performers as Remy, Janota, Rozvandovic, Valencia. I have worked a lot with young players and I understand that they can be unstable, but we should not look at past merits - it is better to look forward and develop youngsters.
Today, of course, we met teams of different levels, which are now solving different problems. But it's more my fault in terms of the mood for the game: somewhere I put too much pressure on the players and they could not cope with the pressure," said Khatskevich at the post-match press conference.
