A Barcelona court has ruled to release former Brazilian national team defender Dani Alves from custody on bail of €1 million, Marca reports.
According to the source, Dani Alves' lawyer filed an appeal against the Barcelona court's verdict and demanded that the convict be released from custody before the final verdict is passed. Earlier, the Brazilian was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison.
A Barcelona court has temporarily released Brazilian footballer Dani Alves on bail. He will be free until the appeal against his sexual assault is heard.
After posting bail and being released, Alves will have to surrender both his passports (Brazilian and Spanish). He will have to appear in court in Barcelona on a weekly basis. In addition, Alves is prohibited from approaching the places where the victim is often present within a kilometre.
As a reminder, in January 2023, Alves was charged with raping a girl at the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona. On 20 January, the ex-footballer was taken into custody.
