Ukraine's national team continues preparations for the Euro 2024 play-off final against Iceland, which will take place this Tuesday in Vrolava.
On Saturday morning, the team was scheduled to have a theoretical session dedicated to analysing the match against the Bosnians. The coaching staff had a lot to say to the players, pointing out mistakes and focusing on the elements of the game that need to be improved.
As you know, those who work hard get things done. In the afternoon, the rain first eased, and by 16:45, when the teams went to training, it had even subsided. So the evening session was held on a wet lawn at a temperature of +5 C, but without water and puddles. Another qualitative characteristic of decent training conditions: the drainage system coped with the heavy rainfall.
The coaching staff continued to work in two groups yesterday. In the match against Bosnia, which took place on a difficult pitch and was full of martial arts, the players performed a large amount of functional work, which left its mark on their physical condition. Therefore, the starting line-up for the semi-final play-off game had a recovery session today. After jogging, physical training coach Vitaliy Kulyba offered the players a set of exercises for muscle rehabilitation.
At the same time, the rest of the players, after warming up, practicing passing and ball possession, moved on to the game series. Today, the coaching staff constantly changed the tasks for the performers, saturating the work with fast movements and finishing shots. The team was actively practising their attacking moves. For the first time at the March training camp, Viktor Tsygankov took part in a training session in the general group. Our midfielder spent the entire session with his partners.
Today, the Blue and Yellows will continue preparations for the match in Opalenytsia.
