The decisive match for Euro 2024 between Ukraine and Iceland will start at 21:45 tonight. For Serhii Rebrov's team, qualifying for the European Championship is important in terms of prestige, status and further prospects for Ukrainian players.
At the same time, the match is important for the UAF. Earlier, the new president of the association, Andriy Shevchenko, conducted an audit that showed a large budget deficit of at least several million euros. However, it can be easily covered if Ukraine qualifies for the Euros.
New prize money from UEFA will provide each participant in the tournament with €9.25 million. Each victory in the group is valued at €1 million, and a draw is worth €0.5 million.
Reaching the playoffs will give 1.5 million euros, the quarterfinals - another 2.5 million, the semifinals - plus 4 million, and reaching the final will bring an additional 5 or 8 million (for the loser and the winner, respectively).
The total prize pool for Euro 2024 is €331 million.
