Well-known manager and expert Vyacheslav Zakhovailo shared his impressions of yesterday's final play-off match of the Euro 2024 qualifying round between the national teams of Ukraine and Iceland (2:1).
"Emotions are overwhelming. From anxiety - to crazy euphoria. Such psychological swings - for the fans... This result can not help but fall in love, a whole drama.
And what about the game?
Iceland pressed hard in the first half. Immediately I thought that they didn't have enough strength for the whole game. So, in principle, it turned out.
Under the pressure there was a lot of technical faults from our guys. Cross passes made me feel cold in my back. I was afraid that there would be an interception, but thank God, it didn`t happen. The supporting zone started to slump. That's where the missed goal came from. Brazhko lost the fight. But let's forgive the youngster, the skill of the Icelandic forward was at the top level.
I admire Rebrov. All substitutions are on time and on the case and strengthened the game. Vitya Tsygankov showed skill, and Mudryk scored with a touch like a great.
All the guys are great, gave their best. Deserved victory.
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!", - wrote Zakhovaylo on his page in the social network Facebook.
