Former Romania head coach Angel Iordanescu, commenting on his national team's qualification for Euro 2024, also expressed his opinion about the Ukraine national team.
"They have strong players from top teams. I spoke to Mircea Lucescu about the Ukraine national team. In addition to what I knew, he only reinforced my confidence - and he is the person who knows Ukrainian football best - that they have strong players playing in the top leagues in Europe. I didn't want Ukraine to get into our group.
As for Slovakia, there is very little talk about them, but they will already participate in the third European Championship. There are also highly qualified players in their national team. Our players should also strive for this - to play at the highest level and improve the level of play, if we want to achieve serious results," - quotes Iordanescu Realitateasportiva.net.
Recall, the Romanian national team is the opponent of our national team in the group round of Euro 2024. Sergei Rebrov's team will meet Edward Iordanescu's team in the match of the 1st round. The match will take place in Munich on 17 June. The kick-off is at 16:00 Kyiv time.
