Ukraine's youth national team won a confident victory in the Euro 2025 (U-21) qualifying match against Azerbaijan (3-0) and continues to lead Group F. First, the team's players Oleksandr Yatsyk, Oleh Ocheretko and Valentyn Rubchynskyi, who scored the goals against Azerbaijan, shared their impressions of the successful performance.
"This is my debut goal, and I am very happy to score for the national team for the first time," said Oleksandr Yatsyk.
"The emotions are very pleasant because I helped the team win this match. My goal is also the merit of my partners, who played a good combination. We played very well, but we can do better. For example, in the first half, we could have attacked more, as we did in the second half," added Oleg Ocheretko.
"It's no surprise - we scored an ordinary goal. We can say that we put an end to the match to finish the game calmly, bringing it to a logical conclusion," summed up Valentyn Rubchynskyi.
Later, blue-and-yellow defender Arsenii Batagov joined the goal scorers.
"The game was given to us, so from the very beginning we began to create chances, plus there were many standards. We managed to score a quick goal, so I think our victory is natural. We won all six games out of six, conceding only two goals. So I think we are moving in the right direction. The team is making progress and will continue to do so," he stressed.
It will be recalled that Unai Melgosa's men will play their next Euro 2025 (U-21) qualifying match against Serbia on 6 September.
