Belarusian coach of Polish "Zaglembe" from Sosnowiec Alexander Khatskevich, commenting on the defeat of his team from "Katowice"(0:4) in the next round of the first league of Poland, spoke about an unusual coaching experiment undertaken before the match.
Aleksandr Khatskiewicz"Whatever I say today, it will be taken as an excuse. After the match with Lechia (0:4 - ed.) in the past, we agreed with the team that not only I am responsible for the result. And after the starting line-up, determined by me, was announced today at the installation, the players themselves determined the tactics for the game. Frankly speaking, I do not know what the plan for the game was - it was determined by the team behind closed doors.
We have no anarchy, but the players must understand that they are also responsible for their game and for the result. However, this was the first and the last time when the players themselves determined the tactics for the game.
All our players have already taken part in the last matches. Some want to, but can no longer, and some can, but do not want to. I told the team that I am not a mathematician, but as long as there are chances, I will fight. If one of them gives up, he may not come to training tomorrow.
This club has a great environment for the team. There are great fans here. Today after the match I asked the players: "Where and in which team have such conditions for work as we do?". And many of them answered me that not even all the teams of the Polish Ekstraklasa have such conditions.
And I also want to ask: who is in charge of the team? Will someone answer me? And I will tell you that the main person in the team is all the players. The players are responsible for this game. But today we have to think that the best will be the best.
There are very strict requirements for the team. On organisation, on respect for each other. But we have no conflict with the guys. Another thing is that each player has a certain level. We have not paid a penny for any of the recent reinforcements. No one has received any agency fees, none of the newcomers have not received any raise. Each player has a certain bonus for achieving results. It should motivate.
And so it turns out that the next season we have only two people in the team. It can not be so that every year the team is formed anew," said Khatskevich at the post-match press conference.
