On Thursday, 4 April, Yaroslav Hrytsiuk, the former president of Lviv's Karpaty, passed away at the age of 67, the club's spokesman Yuriy Nazarkevych said.
"In 1998-1999, Yaroslav Hrytsiuk led the Carpathian club as the CEO of the Ukrainian-Canadian joint venture Galev Ltd, which was the founder of the Karpaty football club. During this period, the Karpaty team wrote bright pages in its history, winning bronze medals in the 1997/1998 Ukrainian championship and reaching the final of the 1998/1999 Ukrainian Cup," Nazarkevych recalled.
